Assisi (Day 4)

We stopped at Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli on our way to Assisi this morning.   This modern church was built around a humble chapel where St. Francis lived, worked and died.  Giuseppe was a fount of knowledge on past and current history of the basilica and Assisi.   We were then set free to explore Assisi on our own after our ears and eyes were filled.

The evening was spent hunting for truffles  with Bruno and his dogs, Puci and Enea at San Pietro a Pettine.  The animals got more attention than the truffles did.
